My 4th Grade Highlights

My favorite experience...

My favorite experience in fourth grade was when we built the aquariums. We had groups and we each got to put some things into the aquariums and I got to put in real fishes! I learned a lot more than I thought I would!

One thing I learned....

One thing I learned in fourth grade was in science. I learned about battery holders an light sockets. The light socket is when there are two places where you put the end of two wires, and there is a place where the light bulb goes. Then, you put the other ends of the wires into the sides of the battery holder. The battery holder is where you put the battery inside. Then, on the sides, you put the other ends of the wire.

My favorite unit of study...

My favorite unit of study was social studies because we got to pick a state in the Midwest region. Then, we had to find information about that state. Lastly, we printed it on a sheet of paper where half of it was your writing, and the other half was who it was to, where they live, and the zipcode and the stamp so it made it seem like a postcard.

One area in which I am most improved...

One area in which I am most improved is on handwriting. At the beginning of the year, you couldn't even see my handwriting! Now, you can see it perfectly!

One thing of which I am most proud...

One thing in which I am most proud is on cursive. I have gotten so much better at it! I am very proud of that!

My Favorite Book I Read In Fourth Grade...

My favorite book I read in fourth grade was What Holly Heard. What Holly Heard is about a girl, named Holly, that knows all about the gossip. Then she hears a secret that's so shocking, its too shocking to tell. It is going to take secrets, threats, and maybe even murder. You have to read the book to find out the rest!

One thing i plan to do this summer is...

One thing i plan to do this summer is practice soccer and basketball. I will do this because they are my two favorite sports and I wan to get better at them. I am really looking forward to my dad helping me with both. With my dad's help, by the end of the summer, I will be a champion!

June makes me think of...

June makes me think of hot sunny days because i like being in the sun a lot and going to the pool. Another thing that June makes me think of is camp because camp is all about being with friends, meeting new friends, playing sports, doing activities, meeting new councelors, and the most important thing, HAVE FUN! Also, June makes me think of no school because after the last day of school, you are done doing homework, done taking math, reading, and spelling tests, no more hard writing projects, and of course, NO HAVING TO WAKE UP EARLY!!The other thing that June makes me think of is all the flowers because in May, they are just sprouting, but in June, they are beautiful and wonderful! The last thing that June makes me think of is spending time with family and friends because it's summer and there is no school so you can hang out with them all the time! I am so excited for summer this year!

New Grade Feelings...

New grade feelings happen to a lot of people, like me. I was excited about going into fourth grade, but i was also nervous. I was nervous that the teacher wouldn't like me so sh would yell at me. I also was afraid that I would get a lot of homework. When I was in my fourth grade classroom for step up day, (a day we have when you go and meet your teacher for next year) a lot of things were going through my mind. For example, A thought was going through my head was that she/ he would always yell and give us tons of homework. Those thoughts changed throughout the year because i got used to being in the classroom and my teacher was really nice. I can't even believe I had a thought that i would not like fourth grade! I am feeling very confident, but still scared about fifth grade. I think the thing that is going to be different about fifth grade is that you will probably learn harder things, get more homework, have to take really hard tests, and everything else that was not in fourth grade. But the things I think that will be the same in fifth grade than fourth grade is that you still get homework, you still have to learn, and you still have to go to school! I am scared, but I think i am ready to step up and go into fifth grade!

One idea for how we can improve the school is...

If I was able to make the school better, I would make it better by, instead of having so many regular lights on in the room, you could use energy efficient light bulbs,( the swirly light bulbs). The reason is because it wastes a lot of electricity, and the swirly ones don't. This would help a lot because energy efficient bulbs are good for the earth so we can make a difference by replacing them. If everyone in my school did this, it would make a big difference, both to the school and the earth. I will keep doing other important things to the earth to save it. My reason is because it's my home and I LOVE it!!!
